Skills and Stats

Henry has 4 main stats (Strength, Agility, Vitality, Speech) and 15 skills in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Each one levels by use, caps at 30 like the main level, and gives a perk point every time it rises.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 tracks 19 leveling categories, as Game Rant counts them: four main stats (Strength, Agility, Vitality and Speech) and 15 skills, from Swords and Marksmanship to Alchemy, Thievery and Houndmaster. There are no points to spend on them. Warhorse Studios puts it plainly: "Henry's skills level up as he uses them". Swinging a sword raises Swords, haggling raises Speech and running raises Vitality. Every level also earns a perk point for the Perks trees.

How leveling works

Each stat and skill has its own experience bar, and every bit of experience also counts toward Henry's main level. TheGamer's max level guide explains that hovering over a stat in the Player menu shows how close it is to the next level. A sword fight therefore raises Swords, Warfare and the main level all at once.

The cap is 30 everywhere. According to TheGamer, the main level and each stat and skill all stop at 30, and bonuses from perks and potions cannot push a stat higher than that.

Mastering one weapon helps with the rest of its class. Warhorse wrote that mastering one weapon type in a class raises Henry's basic capability with the others in that class. The same post lists two more routes besides practice: teachers who share their expertise, and quests that reward knowledge.

There is no Mace skill and no separate Speech skill. Game Rant notes that maces, axes and hammers all share Heavy Weapons, and that Speech is one of the four main stats.

Some skills rise much faster than others. PCGamesN's leveling guide finds that Horsemanship and Houndmaster climb quickly while Scholarship and Marksmanship are slow, and that maxing skills takes dozens of hours. In Patch 1.2 on Mar 13, 2025, Warhorse rebalanced XP for Vitality, Agility, Thievery, Stealth, Marksmanship and Houndmaster, and the patch notes say "training Marksmanship should be noticeably easier now". The fastest methods for each skill are on the Leveling Guide.

The four main stats

Strength is raw power. Weapons list a Strength requirement (PCGamesN's sword list runs from 4 for the Hunting Sword to 18 for the Knight's Sword), Strength decides who wins a clinch, and a Game Rant guide says each point adds 10 to carrying capacity. According to PCGamesN, it starts at a base level of 6.

Agility is the second weapon requirement and the dodging stat. PCGamesN says it rises by dodging and fighting with one-handed swords, and Game Rant adds daggers and staying sneaky near enemies.

Vitality is stamina and endurance. Game Rant says it rises by burning stamina through sprinting, jumping, vaulting and landing combos. The Main Level perk Heroic Vigor, as PCGamesN describes it, adds one stamina point for every Vitality level, past levels included.

Speech drives dialogue and trade. Game Rant's rules of the game split dialogue checks into six values. Persuasion and Coercion rest mainly on Speech. Presence and Intimidation come from armor, weapons and fitness. Impression and Domination come mainly from Charisma, with some Speech. See Speech and Charisma.

The weapon skills follow how weapons work against armor. TheGamer's combat tips say swords find gaps in mail and cloth, heavy weapons beat plate, and polearms are slow but long. See Melee Weapons and Combat Guide.

Marksmanship counts only living targets. Game Rant's Marksmanship guide says hits on bandits, rabbits, deer, boars and wolves give experience, practice dummies give none, and the first Marksmanship book lies free near Troskowitz.

Scholarship sets how fast Henry reads. According to a TheGamer study guide, Henry sits, chooses Study from the Books tab and picks a duration, and some books need a minimum Scholarship level. PCGamesN prices skill books at about 150 groschen each from the scribes Gaibl in Troskowitz and Erazim at Trosky Castle.

Drinking is a real skill. TheGamer says it rises by drinking and that higher levels lower the risk of addiction.

Perk points

Every level of a stat or skill gives one perk point. Game Rant explains that the point can go into any tree, not only the one that earned it, and that perks Henry can afford show a yellow star. Charisma and the other derived stats give no points, because experience cannot level them.

Perk tiers open at even skill levels. PCGamesN's perk list shows tiers at 6, 8, 10 and so on up to 20, most offering two perks, some of them mutually exclusive. Every tree is listed on Perks, and the combinations outlets recommend are on Builds.

Perks can be undone once. PCGamesN's potion list describes Lethean Water as the potion that lets Henry pick his perks again, a reset it calls "irreversible and painful". The recipe is on Alchemy and Potion Recipes.

Where Henry starts

Henry does not start at zero. Early in the game Captain Thomas stops the group, and how Henry answers picks a playstyle that adds a few starting points. Game Rant's playstyle guide lists Soldier (combat skills and Strength), Adviser (Speech +1, Alchemy +2, Scholarship +2, Horsemanship +1) and Scout (Stealth, Survival, Thievery and Marksmanship), and calls the effect "very, very minor" because skills rise through use. See Best Early Choices.

Charisma

Charisma is the one derived stat that matters. Game Rant's Charisma guide calls it "determined by Henry's clothes and overall appearance": the total of every worn piece, up to 30. Clean clothes and bathhouses keep it up, and perks such as Knight in Shining Armor (+1 to +4 in plate) and Heracles (+1 for every 5 levels of Strength) add to it. A haircut from the barber added in Patch 1.2 gives a temporary Charisma boost, PCGamesN reported.
