Dice

Dice in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is a six-dice game where you set aside scoring dice (a 1 is 100, a 5 is 50, three of a kind is 100 times the face, three 1s are 1,000), then bank the turn or reroll the rest, losing the turn's points if a roll scores nothing. Badges of Tin, Silver or Gold and special dice such as the Weighted Die bend the odds.

Dice in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is a push-your-luck game for groschen: each turn you throw six dice, set aside at least one scoring die or combination, and then either end the turn to bank the points or throw the dice that are left, losing everything from that turn if a throw scores nothing. Players alternate until one reaches the match's target score. Game Rant's dice guide (Mehrdad Khayyat, Feb 6, 2025) and TheGamer's dice guide (Tom Hopkins, Feb 4, 2025) give the same scoring. Dice tables stand in taverns and camps across both regions, the game is part of several quests, and badges and special dice add tricks on top of the basic rules.

Rules of a turn

A turn starts with all six dice. Game Rant explains that the starting player is chosen at random, and after every throw a player must set aside at least one scoring combination; then they may throw the remaining dice or end the turn. Ending the turn adds the points to the total for good, while throwing again keeps them only provisional.

A throw with nothing to score is a bust. It wipes out every point from that turn and passes the dice to the opponent, so the longer a turn runs on fewer dice, the more it risks. TheGamer adds the happy exception: a player who scores with all six dice throws all six again.

The target score differs by match. The first one in the game, against Tankard during the main quest Easy Riders, is played to 1,500 points (Game Rant, Feb 5, 2025).

Scoring

Only 1s, 5s, straights and sets of three or more score. The table follows Game Rant's scoring table; TheGamer gives the same values and the rule behind them, that each matching die past three doubles the score.

Combination Points
Single 1 100
Single 5 50
1-2-3-4-5 500
2-3-4-5-6 750
1-2-3-4-5-6 1,500
Three 1s 1,000
Three 2s, 3s, 4s, 5s, 6s 200, 300, 400, 500, 600
Four of a kind Double three of a kind (four 1s 2,000; four 6s 1,200)
Five of a kind Double again (five 1s 4,000; five 6s 2,400)
Six of a kind Double again (six 1s 8,000; six 6s 4,800)

TheGamer also notes a Devil's Head face on some special dice, which adds itself to any combination as a wild value.

Wagers and stakes

A match's stake is chosen from fixed levels named for social ranks. TheGamer lists them as Farmers 5 groschen, Miners 15, Novices 25 and a badge, Soldiers 40, Priests 70, Cardinals 95, Knights 110 and a badge, Lords 150, Kings 180 and a badge, and Emperors 300 and a badge. In a stake "and a badge", the loser also hands over the badge they brought (Game Rant).

Dice is in every tavern and at many roadside camps, and the stakes rise in the second region. TheGamer's money guide (Feb 4, 2025) says early bets run 10 to 20 groschen, while high rollers in Kuttenberg's taverns bet hundreds, and PCGamesN's money guide (Feb 5, 2025) says a gold badge is needed for the 300-groschen Emperor matches. How dice compares with other ways to earn is on Money Making Guide.

Badges

A badge is a one-match power brought to the table. Each player brings one badge from the inventory, and both badges must be the same tier, Tin, Silver or Gold; most work once per game at a moment the player chooses (Game Rant). Badges are looted from enemies or bought from merchants, and TheGamer's beginner tips add that knocking down a bird nest with a thrown stone sometimes drops one (TheGamer, Feb 4, 2025).

The families scale with their tier. This table is TheGamer's badge list of Feb 4, 2025.

Badge Tin Silver Gold
Doppelganger's Double your last throw, once Twice Three times
Headstart Small lead at the start Moderate lead Large lead
Defense Cancels the opponent's Tin badges Silver badges Gold badges
Fortune Rethrow one die, once Up to two dice Up to three dice
Might One extra die, once Twice Three times
Transmutation Turn one die into a 3 Into a 5 Into a 1
Warlord's +25% points this turn +50% Double the turn's points
Resurrection Throw again after a bust, once Twice Three times
Exchange None Rethrow one chosen die Rethrow two dice of the same value
Advantage Carpenter's: 3 and 5 score as "the Cut" Executioner's: 4-5-6 as "the Gallows" Priest's: 1-3-5 as "the Eye"

A few badges stand alone. The Silver King's Badge adds an extra die twice, the Golden Emperor's Badge triples the score of three 1s, and the Golden Wedding Badge lets you rethrow up to three dice once (TheGamer).

TheGamer also says where the gold badges it ranks best are found. The Gold Wedding Badge is won in the three matches at the wedding in Semine, the Gold Warlord's Badge is sold at the All Saints tavern in south Kuttenberg, the Gold Doppelganger Badge by the innkeeper or alehouse maid at the tavern in Grund, and the Gold Badge of Headstart at Dry Devil's Den (TheGamer's best badges, Feb 12, 2025).

Special and loaded dice

Special dice replace standard ones before a match and lean toward certain faces. TheGamer says they are weak alone but quick to score with when several share an effect (TheGamer).

The first one sits in the prologue's camp. Game Rant places a loaded die in a box behind Tankard before the Easy Riders match (Game Rant), and its Weighted Die guide puts the Weighted Die in an unlocked chest in a small cave north of the camp's lakeside, behind the pen where Hans duels Henry, rolling a 1 about 66.7% of the time (Game Rant, Jan 9, 2026).

Others come from quests and exploration. A Painted Die lies in the western fortress during The Finger of God (Game Rant, Feb 22, 2025), Devil's Dice are a reward of the side quest Hunting the Werewolf (Game Rant, Feb 9, 2025), and Saint Antiochus' Die always rolls a 3, a Holy Hand Grenade joke (Game Rant's easter eggs, Feb 17, 2025).

Dice in quests

Several quests put Henry at a dice table:

  • Easy Riders: Oats wants Tankard beaten at dice for a ring, in exchange for a sausage for Mutt (Game Rant, Feb 6, 2025).
  • Laboratores: the bride's brother Svatya Thrush offers dice as bait; TheGamer's walkthrough says to ignore it (TheGamer, Feb 6, 2025).
  • Wedding Crashers: three matches at the Semine wedding win the Gold Wedding Badge.
  • Back in the Saddle: dice with Guardsman Zwerk pays a badge or groschen (Game Rant, Feb 11, 2025).
  • For Victory!: dice with Bailiff Goathead can win 110 groschen (Game Rant, Mar 3, 2025).
  • The Finger of God: optional dice with Hans.
  • Miri Fajta: dice with the Voivode is one of three contests, of which Henry must win two for the good ending (Game Rant, Feb 7, 2025).
  • Caught Thief's Map: Black Bartosch, by the dice tables at Trosky Castle, gives up the map if beaten at dice, pickpocketed or paid 250 groschen (Game Rant, Feb 19, 2025).
  • The Devil's Pack: one of the Dry Devil's men, Ranyek, was buried alive in Bylany over a dice debt (TheGamer, Feb 21, 2025).

More on these quests is on Main Quests in Trosky and Side Quests.

How to win at dice

Keep the dice that score big and throw the rest. Game Rant's advice is to prefer high combinations over single 5s, to remember that fewer dice mean a smaller chance of scoring on the next throw, and to take risks when behind and play safe when ahead; with under 200 points at stake, throwing three dice again is worth it because a bust costs little (Game Rant). Its example: with two 5s, take one and throw five dice rather than bank both for 100.

TheGamer's tips agree. It advises against scoring single 5s, says a single 1 is worth keeping before throwing the rest, and says to aim for three of a kind or better, since straights are hard to roll (TheGamer).

Two perks touch dice. The Drinking perk Lucky Day makes a drunker Henry less likely to waste a dice badge, and the Vitality perk Creative Soul slowly refills energy while playing dice, per PCGamesN's perk list of May 16, 2025; the full trees are on Perks.

Patches

Patch 1.2.4 fixed a crash when Henry was hit while choosing dice (PLAION player support, Apr 15, 2025). Patch 1.5.6 added a jester outside the Hangman's Halter Tavern in Kuttenberg "shouting about a strange new game", with a new quest (Warhorse on Steam, Jun 25, 2026); Warhorse's post does not say whether it is a dice game. Every update is on Patches and Updates.
