Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 was released on Feb 4, 2025 for Windows (Steam and the Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, after Warhorse Studios revealed it on Apr 18, 2024 for a 2024 release, delayed it on Aug 15, 2024 to Feb 11, 2025, and then moved it up a week on Dec 4, 2024. PLAION noted the launch came "almost seven years to the day" after the first game. The reveal: Apr 18, 2024

Warhorse Studios and Deep Silver revealed Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 at a global digital event on Apr 18, 2024 at 20:15 CEST, for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S and a 2024 release. The reveal ran about 13 minutes, narrated by Tom McKay and Luke Dale, the voices of Henry and Hans. A trailer had leaked a little earlier as an ad on IGN's website, which confirmed the title and the 2024 window. Warhorse announced the languages on May 31, 2024.

The delay to February 2025

On Aug 15, 2024 Warhorse moved the game from 2024 to Feb 11, 2025. PR manager Tobias Stolz-Zwilling said the team "almost made it" for the end of 2024 but wanted more time for finishing touches.

Gamescom followed days later. Insider Gaming reported a trailer at Opening Night Live on Aug 20, a playable demo from Aug 21 to 25 and the Collector's Edition reveal, and Warhorse opened pre-orders on Aug 21, 2024 with a 20-minute gameplay showcase and a bonus questline, The Lion's Crest.

Moved up to Feb 4, 2025

On Dec 4, 2024 Warhorse moved the release up one week, to Feb 4, 2025. The same day it announced that the game had gone gold, that it was PS5 Pro Enhanced with quality and performance modes on PS5 and Xbox Series X, and that it had passed 1 million Steam wishlists. PC specs came out on Dec 5, and the story trailer on Dec 6.

The last weeks before launch filled in the plan. The post-launch roadmap of Jan 22, 2025 promised free spring updates and paid story expansions through the year, and the game was declared playable on Steam Deck on Jan 30. PCWorld listed pre-loading from Jan 28 on Xbox, Feb 2 on PS5 and Feb 3 (11:00 AM EST) on Steam.

Launch: Feb 4, 2025

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 launched on Feb 4, 2025 on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro and Xbox Series X|S, on Steam and the Epic Games Store, with GeForce Now support and GOG promised for spring. It sold in Standard, Gold and Collector's Editions, with the Expansion Pass and soundtrack on sale from day one. Warhorse had held a launch party, the "Blue Carpet", on Feb 3.

The launch was the fastest in the series. Warhorse announced 1 million copies in 24 hours, and Steam counted 159,351 players on launch day, rising to an all-time peak of 256,206 on Feb 9, as SteamDB measured them. Sales and reviews are on Reception and Awards.

GOG and the first free updates

The GOG version arrived on Mar 28, 2025, DRM-free, with the base game, Gold Edition, Expansion Pass and soundtrack; GOG had announced it on Jan 20, 2025. GOG's listings say the Deep Silver account system is not implemented there, so its bonus items do not unlock. The same day, The Lion's Crest went on sale separately for players who had not pre-ordered.

The first big free update, Patch 1.2 on Mar 13, 2025, added barbers and official modding. Patch 1.2.4 on Apr 15, 2025 added Hardcore Mode, and the Gallant Huntsman's Kit and Shields of Seasons Passing went on sale separately that day, per Steam. Every version is on Patches and Updates.

The three story DLCs

The story expansions came roughly every four months in 2025, each with a free update. Brushes with Death arrived on May 15, 2025 at 17:00 CET with Update 1.3 and its free horse racing. Legacy of the Forge followed on Sep 9, 2025 with Patch 1.4, live at 5 PM CEST. Mysteria Ecclesiae, announced on Oct 23, 2025, came out on Nov 11, 2025 with Patch 1.5 (Nov 12 in Australia, per PLAION's regional release). See DLC and Expansion Pass.

Royal Edition: Nov 12, 2025

The Royal Edition went on sale on Nov 12, 2025: the base game with all three story DLCs and the three cosmetic packs, replacing the Gold Edition. The same day Warhorse released the Kingdom Come: Deliverance Saga Bundle with the Royal Editions of both games, and announced 4 million copies sold. 2026: patches and the Switch 2

The game kept getting small updates in 2026. Patch 1.5.3 on Mar 5 added native Windows on ARM, 1.5.5 on Apr 20 a book from a Crusader Kings III collaboration, and 1.5.6 on Jun 25 a jester's quest. No later patch appears in Warhorse's Steam announcements through Oct 6, 2026.

A Nintendo Switch 2 version is the next release. Deep Silver announced the Royal Edition for Switch 2 on Sep 8, 2026 (Game Informer dates the Nintendo Direct Sep 9), for 2027, with the three story expansions, exclusive gear and a bonus questline. Deep Silver has given no date or price. No Mac version has been announced.
