Henry of Skalitz
Henry is the son of a Skalitz blacksmith whose parents died when Sigismund's forces raided the village in the first game, which also revealed his real father to be Sir Radzig Kobyla (Deep Silver; TheGamer). Deep Silver says revenge drives him, and that he must choose between what is right and what is needed to protect his friends. Tom McKay plays him in voice, motion and facial capture (Insider Gaming). His full story is on Henry of Skalitz.
Hans Capon
Hans is the young heir to Rattay and Henry's friend, whom Deep Silver calls pompous but carefree and an exceptional archer (Deep Silver). TheGamer says the sequel gives him an archery arc and an arranged marriage (TheGamer). Luke Dale plays him, as in the first game (Warhorse). More is on Hans Capon.
Jan Žižka
Žižka is the bandit captain Henry duels at Nebakov, whose left eye Henry strikes, and who then becomes one of Henry's closest allies (Game Rant's Žižka feature). Game Rant called him the game's "breakout star." He is based on the real Hussite general; his game story and his history are on Jan Žižka.
Katherine
Katherine is an original character and Žižka's undercover agent. She is the woman Henry tries to save at the pond in the prologue, and TheGamer says she later turns out to be working for Žižka (TheGamer's voice actors guide). She tells Henry at the Troskowitz inn that a wedding is his only chance to meet Lord von Bergow (TheGamer's Laboratores walkthrough), and in Storm she rescues the group from Trosky's dungeon and gives Henry her dagger (Game Rant's Storm walkthrough). TheGamer says she is fictional but draws on several real women, including the two wives named Katherine of the real Žižka (TheGamer's history explainer). She is one of the full romances on Romance.
Father Godwin
Godwin is the second character the player controls. A minor figure in the first game, he has been banished from his parish and goes looking for Henry and Hans (TheGamer); Deep Silver calls him a "debauched" village priest from Uzhitz and the black sheep of a noble family (Deep Silver). The player controls him in the opening siege, in Divine Messenger, in parts of The King's Gambit and The Feast, as the Cardinal in The Italian Job, and in the second Last Rites (Story and Main Quest Walkthrough). In The King's Gambit he also arranges Hans's marriage (TheGamer's King's Gambit walkthrough).
The enemies
King Sigismund of Hungary is the overarching antagonist, at war with his brother King Wenceslas IV (Game Rant's preview; Deep Silver's history article). Henry meets him face to face only in disguise, serving wine at the Kuttenberg council in The King's Gambit, where a secret ending lets Henry assassinate him (Game Rant's secret Sigismund ending guide).
Istvan Toth is the lord who took the sword of Henry's father in the first game. In the sequel he works with the bandits, is exposed as Sigismund's agent, and dies at Henry's hand in Storm (TheGamer; Game Rant's Storm walkthrough).
Erik is Toth's adopted son and the villain left standing. Toth's forces killed Erik's family, then Toth took him in, taught him swordsmanship and made him a commander (Game Rant's Erik feature). He wants revenge for Toth's death, challenges Henry to an optional duel in Civitas Pragensis, and is last seen wounded but alive. Jim High plays him and was nominated for Best Supporting Performer at the Golden Joystick Awards (Warhorse, Oct 15, 2025).
Markvart von Aulitz is the man who murdered Henry's parents. Deep Silver says he leads Sigismund's Cuman and Prague armies (Deep Silver); he leads the siege of Suchdol, and in Reckoning Henry can kill him or leave him, in which case he dies overnight of his wounds (TheGamer's endings guide).
Otto von Bergow, the lord of Trosky, has sided with Sigismund (Game Rant's preview). Henry serves him through the first act until von Bergow takes Nebakov and imprisons him, and in Dancing with the Devil Henry and Žižka capture him at Maleshov (TheGamer's Dancing with the Devil walkthrough).
Allies in Kuttenberg
Hynek, the Dry Devil, is a robber knight Henry and Žižka rescue from a convoy in Speak of the Devil; TheGamer says the real Hynek organized a defense against an invasion of over 12,000 soldiers (TheGamer's history explainer). Kubyenka, Žižka's friend, is forgetful but well meaning and joins the main cast in the second half (TheGamer's voice actors guide).
Samuel leads Henry to John of Liechtenstein in Into the Underworld and fights beside him to the end. Whether he survives depends on Henry's choice in Reckoning: taking him along saves him but loses Suchdol's silver (TheGamer's endings guide). In Exodus Henry rescues Samuel's mother Sara (TheGamer's Exodus walkthrough).
Musa of Mali is a physician Henry meets undercover in Sigismund's camp and can make an ally (TheGamer). TheGamer says he draws on Mansa Musa and on the traveler Ibn Battuta rather than one historical person (TheGamer).
Rosa Ruthard, the Ruthard family's only daughter, helps Henry free Hans from Maleshov and is a romance option (TheGamer). TheGamer says she comes from a Kuttenberg legend about a noble's daughter locked in a cellar. Vauquelin Brabant, the French knight held with Hans, is revealed as a traitor trying to steal the silver in The Italian Job (TheGamer's Italian Job walkthrough).
Family and lords
Sir Radzig Kobyla, Lord of Skalitz, is Henry's real father. He sends Henry to Trosky, later sends Godwin to rescue him and Hans, and finally gives Henry the sword (TheGamer). Sir Hanush of Leipa, Lord of Rattay and Hans's uncle, gave Henry Pebbles in the first game; in the sequel he pushes Hans to marry and still treats Henry as a servant (TheGamer). Both arrive with the army that relieves Suchdol (TheGamer's Last Rites walkthrough).
Mutt and Pebbles
Henry's animals come back from the first game. Mutt, a dog from Skalitz, is central to several quests, including a reunion after he goes missing in the opening (TheGamer); reuniting with him opens the Houndmaster skill (PCGamesN's Mutt guide). Pebbles, Henry's mare, is offered in Back in the Saddle against the faster Herring (Game Rant's Back in the Saddle walkthrough). See Mutt the Dog and Horses.
Real and invented
The cast mixes real nobles with invented commoners. Game Rant counts Henry, Godwin and Istvan Toth as fictional (Game Rant's history list), and TheGamer says Hans is based on Jan Ptáček of Pirkštejn, aged up from 15 to 20 (TheGamer's history explainer). The game also moves some lives around: the real Markvart von Aulitz died of an arrow wound in 1402, a year before the game, which moves his death to its end (TheGamer). Jan Hus and King Wenceslas are named but never seen. The background is on Historical Background.
Voice actors
Warhorse's own videos and posts name the main performers. Its live-action series credits "Tom / Henry: Tom McKay" and "Luke / Hans: Luke Dale" (Warhorse, Feb 17, 2025), its Golden Joystick post names Jim High as Erik (Warhorse, Oct 15, 2025), and the cast cards of its Devil's Pack trailer of Mar 27, 2025 name Tom McKay as Henry, Adrian Bouchet as Žižka, Douglas Russell as the Dry Devil, Janina Anderson as Katherine, Milton Welsh as Kubyenka, Euan Macnaughton as Father Godwin, Richard Kiess as Lord Liechtenstein, Jean-Philippe Ricci as Vauquelin Brabant and George Lenz as King Sigismund (Warhorse). McKay recorded 508 hours of dialogue over 127 sessions and was nominated for a BAFTA (NME). Press and fan lists name actors for other roles, but this viki states only credits from Warhorse, Deep Silver or an awards body; the rest is on Voice Cast and Music.
