Side Quests

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has dozens of side quests (Game Rant lists 42 in the base game) across the Trosky and Kuttenberg regions, paying groschen, gear, reputation and skill experience. The standouts include The Fifth Commandment, The Mouth of Hell, In Vino Veritas and the Kuttenberg Tournament, and For Victory! and Oratores cancel several unfinished ones.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has dozens of side quests across its two maps: Game Rant's list counts 42 in the base game, and their rewards are generally reputation, skill experience and groschen, with a few unique weapons, shields and horses. The best known are The Fifth Commandment (a serial-killer hunt with Katherine), The Mouth of Hell (which Warhorse calls the game's only survival horror quest), In Vino Veritas and the weekly Kuttenberg Tournament. Some can be missed: starting the main quests For Victory! and Oratores cancels several that are still open (Game Rant).

The best side quests

The Fifth Commandment is the side quest guides single out most. Katherine asks Henry to hunt a serial killer in Kuttenberg: he examines the body and the crime scene by a pond in the north quarter, uses Mutt to track a suspect by her scarf, and points Lumir to the Von Grolles; the killer is Hendl Von Grolle, per Game Rant's walkthrough. It pays 150 groschen and the Kuttenberg Knight Shield, and Game Rant says it is needed for one of the best Endings and, if Katherine kills Madeline, for her Romance.

The Mouth of Hell is Warhorse's own horror story. Quest designer Karel Kolman called it "the only quest in the game that could truly be described as survival horror" on Warhorse's Steam blog: cattle are being killed near a mine where a "pit to hell" opened, and Henry chooses between the young priest Marian's reason and foreman Vladimir's old pagan rites. In the mine a knight in bloody armor, Taras, steals Henry's gear, and escaping with his notes pays 225 groschen (Game Rant).

In Vino Veritas is the winemaking quest. Casper Rudolf, a new vineyard owner handing out free wine on Vintner's Street, wants the secret ingredient of the town's favorite wine, and QA tester Ivana Růžičková told Warhorse's blog its tasks can be done in different orders or skipped. Henry steals sulfur wicks and five seedlings from the Sedletz vineyard; the reward is 75 and 425 groschen and a Level 4 Drinking skill book (Game Rant).

The Kuttenberg Tournament repeats every week. Ars Dimicatoria settles a feud between two fencing guilds, and the winner founds the tournament: three events (Sword and Shield, Longsword, Free Combat) at 100 groschen each, each with a best-of-three semi-final and final (Game Rant). Narrative designer Jonáš Chmátal told Warhorse's blog that it runs for the townsfolk even if Henry never enters.

Forbidden Fruit was a Warhorse favorite too. The miller Kreyzl needs saltpeter, so Henry works for the gravedigger at a lye pit where dead animals are buried; QA tester Petr Šindelář named the gravedigger and the miller's assistant as his favorite side characters (Warhorse on Steam). Its chain ends in Opus Magnum, which teaches the Lead Shot Gunpowder recipe (Game Rant); see Firearms.

Thou art but dust... is the shortest ghost story. At the Sedletz ossuary Brother Morticius, who speaks in rhyme, asks Henry to stack 28 normal skulls, 26 cracked skulls and 239 bones, and the gravedigger then reveals the monk died long before Henry was born (Game Rant).

"Lost Honour" pays best for a duel. Sir Jezhek, met by the road, has lost his armor and horse to Zavish of Garbow; beat Zavish in Sigismund's Camp in three rounds (polearm, one-hander with shield, longsword) for 500 groschen, Jezhek's Spurs (+7 Charisma) and the horse Gringolet back, per Game Rant.

Missable side quests

For Victory! is the Trosky point of no return. Starting it begins the chain to Storm and locks out Demons of Trosky and Bad Blood, and Hans warns you to finish your business at its end (Game Rant).

Oratores is the Kuttenberg one. It automatically fails Bellatores, The Thunderstone and The White Roebuck after a warning, per the same Game Rant guide.

Some main quest choices close side quests. Wedding Crashers locks whichever invitation chain (blacksmith or miller) you did not finish, and siding with Hashek in Necessary Evil loses Gules' tasks about his band (Game Rant).

Some side quests fail on their own clock or exclude each other. Bellatores fails if you do not follow Jan Posy at once (TheGamer), Martha dies in Hush, My Darling if you are too slow (Game Rant), and Civic Duty and The Spark exclude each other (Game Rant).

The side quests also feed the ending. Siding with Chenyek in The Spark keeps the good ending open, and letting him be murdered blocks it, per Game Rant. The achievement Been There, Done That asks you to finish side quests before the plot cancels them (Game Rant); see Trophies and Achievements.

Side quests added after launch

Executioner's Pride came with Patch 1.3. Executioner Heinz at the Kuttenberg Gallows, south of the city, needs his sword reforged with a Hanged Man's Noose, a Ghostly Horseshoe (from a phantom horse at midnight in the burned forest between Grund and Kuttenberg), a Bezoar and a Hare Pelt, per Game Rant.

Patch 1.5.6 added "A Jester's visit" on Jun 25, 2026: a jester appears in front of the Hangman's Halter tavern with a new quest. The three story DLCs add their own questlines: Brushes with Death, Legacy of the Forge and Mysteria Ecclesiae.
