Kuttenberg

Kuttenberg (today's Kutná Hora) is the silver-mining city at the heart of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's second map, which opens after the main quest Storm. Warhorse says the city is some ten times larger than the first game's Rattay; its region also holds Suchdol, Sigismund's Camp, Maleshov, the Devil's Den and Sedletz Monastery.

Kuttenberg is the royal silver-mining city at the center of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's second and larger map, the Kuttenberg region, which opens after the 12th main quest, Storm, about 20 hours into the story according to PCGamesN's map guide. Warhorse says the explorable city is "some ten times larger" than Rattay, the closest comparison in the first game (Warhorse on Steam). The region around it holds Suchdol, Sigismund's Camp, Maleshov, the Devil's Den tavern, Grund, Old Kutna and Sedletz Monastery, the setting of the Mysteria Ecclesiae DLC.

When you get there

Henry reaches the Kuttenberg region at the end of the Trosky story. In Storm the group escapes Trosky Castle with von Bergow's orders, which show he is gathering forces at Kuttenberg, and heads there by cart (Game Rant). The first Kuttenberg quest, The Sword and the Quill, begins with a feast at Suchdol with Lord Pisek (TheGamer).

The city itself comes a little later. After Speak of the Devil, Jan Žižka sends Henry to Katherine at a Kuttenberg tavern to begin Into the Underworld (Game Rant); the road from Suchdol runs southeast past Grund and Old Kutna (Game Rant). The order of the next few main quests varies by guide, and TheGamer says Into the Underworld and Via Argentum can be done in either order; see Main Quests in Kuttenberg.

The city

Kuttenberg is laid out as a real medieval city, not a maze. Warhorse senior game designer Ondřej Bittner told Warhorse's Steam blog that it "has avenues with almost wide streets and city blocks," and that the team grouped trades the way the real town did, with markets and streets named for coal, beef, butchers, cobblers and tailors. Deep Silver's game page says the town was founded after silver ore was found nearby and grew rich as the region's trade center.

A medieval street of half-timbered and stone houses with steep roofs leads to a church tower; people in colorful clothes walk among stalls of vegetables, riders pass, puddles reflect the sky, and a stone gate with a red-brick arch stands at the right.

The Italian Court is the city's centerpiece. Bittner called it "the mint of the money" and "the centre of the whole empire", the seat of the king when he was in the city (Warhorse on Steam), and Warhorse's Tobias Stolz-Zwilling told Game Rant it was also the kingdom's central bank, where silver was struck into coins. The main quest The Italian Job takes place there.

The old town hall and its astronomical clock no longer exist, so Warhorse modeled its versions on similar buildings in the region, per Game Rant's interview. Restoring the clock is the goal of the Legacy of the Forge DLC (PLAION).

Kuttenberg also has a city under the city. "The whole city has underground panels and mine shafts that the player can use to traverse the city and sneak around in," Bittner said on Warhorse's blog. Via Argentum ends at a secret mint reached by ladders into an underground bunker (TheGamer).

The city has distinct quarters that quests send Henry to. Into the Underworld leads to Samuel in the Jewish Quarter (Game Rant), In Vino Veritas starts on Vintner's Street (Warhorse on Steam), the Kingfisher Bathhouse stands in Hoprink, and the gunmaker works by the Caslavska Gate in the southeast (TheGamer).

Guilds and factions

The thieves' guild meets at the Hole in the Wall under Chenyek. Its chain runs Feast for the Poor, The Thieves' Code and The Spark (Game Rant), and how The Spark ends can close the good ending (Game Rant); see Endings.

Two swordfighting guilds compete for the city. Menhard von Frankfurt's Frankfurt Brotherhood faces the Kuttenberg Brotherhood in Ars Dimicatoria, and their hall is in the southwest of the city under red and yellow flags (Game Rant). The winner sets up the Kuttenberg Tournament, held once a week, with three events (Sword and Shield, Longsword, Free Combat) at 100 groschen each to enter (Game Rant).

The Blacksmiths' Guild arrives with Legacy of the Forge. Master Bushek runs the guild trial, Master Klaus Eichner gives investigations and Magdalena handles commissions (Game Rant); finishing guild work raises Henry's Prestige. A miners' group also meets in secret in Post Scriptum, with the password "Justice is worth more than silver" (Game Rant).

Traders and services

Kuttenberg sells the game's best gear. Game Rant's armor guide says Kuttenberg Armorers 1, 2, 3 and 6 stock most top plate, such as the Noble's Bascinet (defense 134), and PCGamesN says expensive Kuttenberg equipment can cost over 6,000 groschen. See Best Weapons and Armor.

Trader Where Sells
Gunmaker Prokop Eldris Caslavska Gate, southeast Guns, roughly 200 to 1,200 groschen

Sedletz

Sedletz Monastery stands on the east side of the Kuttenberg region (Game Rant). Its chapel and crypt hold the ossuary Bittner called "a very popular tourist attraction" today (Warhorse on Steam), and its vineyard is where Henry steals seedlings in In Vino Veritas (Game Rant).

The ossuary has its own ghost story. In Thou art but dust..., Brother Morticius (PCGamesN's spelling) asks Henry to stack 28 normal skulls, 26 cracked skulls and 239 bones, and the gravedigger then reveals the monk died long before Henry was born (Game Rant). Abbot Jan III of Sedletz also wants the "dragon bones" destroyed in Dragon's Lair (Game Rant).

The monastery is the whole setting of Mysteria Ecclesiae, released Nov 11, 2025. In it Sedletz is quarantined during an outbreak, and Warhorse calls it "a completely new location" to explore (Warhorse on Steam).

What to do in the Kuttenberg region

The main story runs through 20 quests here, from The Sword and the Quill to Judgment Day (PCGamesN), and ends with the siege of Suchdol. The region also holds most of the game's longest side quests, including The Fifth Commandment, Ars Dimicatoria, In Vino Veritas and The Mouth of Hell; see Side Quests.

Money is bigger here. TheGamer says high rollers in Kuttenberg's taverns bet hundreds of groschen at Dice (TheGamer), and Game Rant says later tournaments pay over 1,000 groschen per event (Game Rant). See Money Making Guide.

All three story DLCs reach the region. Legacy of the Forge starts at an abandoned building in east Kuttenberg near the Hole in the Wall (Game Rant), Mysteria Ecclesiae starts with Peter of Pisek at Suchdol (Game Rant), and the second half of Brushes with Death plays out here.
