Prologue Walkthrough
The Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 prologue is four linear main quests (Last Rites, Easy Riders, Fortuna and Laboratores) that take about two hours and end when Hans leaves Henry in the stocks and the Trosky region opens with two goals, a wedding invitation and the lost dog Mutt.
The prologue of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is the first four main quests, Last Rites, Easy Riders, Fortuna and Laboratores, a linear introduction that PCGamesN's preview puts at about two hours and that teaches combat, alchemy, stealth and reputation. It opens on a flash-forward to a siege played as Father Godwin, then follows Henry of Skalitz and Hans Capon from an ambush in the woods to the stocks at Troskowitz. It ends, in Game Rant's words, with two goals in the open world: win an invitation to the wedding and find the dog. The whole story is on Story and Main Quest Walkthrough.

Last Rites: the flash-forward
Last Rites opens the game at the end of the story. You play Father Godwin defending a besieged fortress with a crossbow: shoot the enemies gathering at the gate, then fight the siege ladders on the battlements, according to Game Rant's hands-on preview. It breaks off on the line "Sir Hans has been hit" and jumps back in time to Henry marching toward Trosky Castle.
The fortress is Suchdol, in the Kuttenberg region. The second-to-last main quest, also named Last Rites, replays the same siege at greater length, TheGamer says, so this opening is a preview of quest 31.
Easy Riders: the road to Trosky
Easy Riders begins with Henry in Sir Hans's company, carrying a letter to Trosky. Soldiers stop the group on suspicion of being bandits, and here you choose a playstyle: Soldier, Adviser or Scout. Game Rant's playstyle guide lists Soldier as small boosts to Strength, Agility, Drinking, Warfare and the weapon skills (Polearms +2), Adviser as Speech +1, Alchemy +2, Scholarship +2 and Horsemanship +1, and Scout as Houndmaster, Stealth, Survival +2, Thievery, Swords and Marksmanship. Game Rant calls the effect "very, very minor", because skills rise through use, and recommends Adviser or Soldier. Best Early Choices compares them.
The soldiers then ask "Why should I trust you?" Game Rant's Easy Riders walkthrough says the answer "Do we really look like bandits to you?" always raises reputation.
At camp, the first side jobs teach dice and reputation. Game Rant's walkthrough says Oats wants you to beat Tankard at Dice in exchange for a sausage for Mutt; hand the ring to Oats, and promise "I'll bring you something from the Nobles' Feast" for the best reputation.
Hans then teaches sword fighting. In a Training Longsword, Padded Coif and Composite Kettle Hat you learn blocks, perfect blocks and ripostes, ending in a bout with Hans (Game Rant's walkthrough). Beating him earns the achievement Déjà Vu ("You defeated Capon during practice. Again."), which Steam's global achievement list shows 67.9% of players have (read Oct 25, 2026); Game Rant says it can only be earned here. The basics of these moves are on Combat Guide.
At the campfire Henry picks three boosts. Game Rant's walkthrough gives the three sets as Strength, Agility, Vitality or Speech; Houndmaster, Stealth, Survival or Scholarship; and Sword, Heavy Weapons, Unarmed or Marksmanship. What each one governs is on Skills and Stats.
The quest ends in an ambush. While the group swims at a pond, strangers attack a woman in the reeds; Hans steps in, guards give chase, Henry is shot in the shoulder, and after a chase through the forest Henry and an attacker go over a cliff (Game Rant's walkthrough). The fall costs Henry many of his levels, PCGamesN notes, so he starts the open game weak.
Fortuna: the herb woman
Fortuna starts with Henry waking in the house of the herb woman Bozhena. TheGamer's Fortuna walkthrough gives the first steps: bandage the bleeding, eat, wash, and take the Marksman's Kit, Tailor's Kit and piercing arrows from upstairs. The kits repair gear and the arrows are useful early, so take them before leaving. Bleeding and healing are on Food, Sleep and Health.
The quest teaches alchemy with a medicine for Hans. TheGamer's recipe for the Chamomile Decoction: gather Sage and Chamomile, put wine in the cauldron and boil it, add two handfuls of Chamomile, turn the sandglass, add one ground handful of Sage, and fill a Phial. The whole bench is on Alchemy and Potion Recipes.
Bandits come looking for Henry. Two men led by Mikesh arrive at the hut; TheGamer's walkthrough says answering "You don't look like Bergow's men" then "You're looking in the wrong place" sends them away, or you can fight them. Telling Bozhena the truth about who you are raises her reputation.
Keep your word to Bozhena. The Steam achievement A Knight's Word ("You rewarded the herbwoman for her help as promised") is held by 51.9% of players on Steam's list (read Oct 25, 2026). Bozhena's daughter is Pavlena, and Bozhena later gives the side quest Bad Blood (PCGamesN's quest list).
The quest ends at Trosky Castle. After breakfast Henry and Hans walk to the castle, where the guards treat them as beggars (TheGamer's walkthrough); without the lost letter they are turned away, and Henry takes odd jobs in a village and hears that a wedding is coming (Game Rant's preview).
Laboratores: the stocks
Laboratores sends Henry to the inn at Troskowitz. There he finds Katherine, the woman he tried to save at the pond; TheGamer's Laboratores walkthrough says using Speech on her lowers her reputation. She tells him a wedding is his only chance to meet Lord Otto von Bergow.
The wedding is at Fort Semine, joining Lord Olda Semine and Agnes Thrush, and only invited guests may attend. TheGamer's steps: ignore the bait of Svatya Thrush, the bride's brother, who offers dice and a fake invitation; carry three sacks to the pantry; take Hans's side in his quarrel with Svatya; then win a fistfight against four men.
The quest ends with Henry and Hans in the stocks. Hans turns on Henry and storms off, leaving him to act alone (TheGamer's walkthrough). That is the end of the prologue: the Trosky region is now open, and the main quest Wedding Crashers asks Henry to find his own way into the wedding.
After the prologue
Two goals wait in the open world: the wedding invitation and the dog. The invitation comes through the blacksmith Radovan in Tachov or the miller Kreyzl in Lower Semine, and choosing one closes the other (Game Rant's points of no return); the routes are on Main Quests in Trosky. For Mutt, Game Rant's dog guide says he was last seen swimming in the pond past the herb woman's hut and turns up running with wolves near the Semine River; see Mutt the Dog.
Guides agree on a few first stops. Game Rant's early-game list starts with Bara, the woman in a red dress in Troskowitz, who gives directions and points you to the trainer Tomcat; TheGamer's beginner tips say to take the Combat Training side quests and to win back the horse Pebbles at Semine. PCGamesN calls the stretch right after the pillory the hardest part of the game. The rest is on Beginner's Guide, Horses and Saving and Savior Schnapps.

-
Best Early ChoicesThe early choices that matter most in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 are the Wedding Crashers route (Radovan or the miller), which horse to keep, your first perks and where you get armor and a sword in the Trosky region. The prologue playstyle choice (Soldier, Adviser or Scout) gives only small starting bonuses, so Game Rant suggests Adviser or Soldier.
-
DiceDice in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is a six-dice game where you set aside scoring dice (a 1 is 100, a 5 is 50, three of a kind is 100 times the face, three 1s are 1,000), then bank the turn or reroll the rest, losing the turn's points if a roll scores nothing. Badges of Tin, Silver or Gold and special dice such as the Weighted Die bend the odds.
-
Combat GuideMelee in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is directional: you attack the side your opponent is not guarding, block at the last moment for a Perfect Block, and with a sword counter through the green shield cue with a Master Strike, which Master Tomcat teaches at the Nomads' Camp after Laboratores. Combos, feints, clinches and stamina decide longer fights. -
Skills and StatsHenry has 4 main stats (Strength, Agility, Vitality, Speech) and 15 skills in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Each one levels by use, caps at 30 like the main level, and gives a perk point every time it rises.
